Home based internet marketing business

Avoid the road to Failure:

With so many programs on the home based internet marketing business offering huge incomes and massive downlines, it would be natural to wonder why so many people are still earning very little or no income. Chat rooms, message boards and safelists seem to be full of Ads claiming they can make you rich, or build a big downline for you.

Sadly, many people in the home based internet marketing business never break even or make a profit.

Why

What is the number one thing that keeps people from succeeding on the Internet

Is it not having enough money to get started No.

Is it not knowing how to market No.

Is it not finding the right company No.

The biggest cause for people not succeeding is that they don't truly believe that they can. They want to, they wish they could, they hope they will, but the one thing they do not have is a desire to succeed. Hoping, wanting, and wishing are great. However, without a firm, 110% belief that you WILL, your chances of success are lessened.

It is important to take steps that reaffirm your belief in what you do.

Treat your Internet business as just that... BUSINESS. You must act professional at all times. This is a business not a hobby. If you treat this as a hobby, you will never achieve the success of an home based internet marketing business.

Be organized and structured. Have folders to separate files and Emails Create a system that keeps everything in place. Print out ALL your important documents and file them away so they are easily retrieved. Save tax information, and all other documents.

Be proud of who you are and what you do. When a person asks you what you do, be proud of your business, and show others that you are proud of your business. If others see your belief they will be 10 times more likely to join under you.

Set time aside to promote and build your business. If you have limited time online, try and create a schedule so you know what to do and when.

Keep track of dates and times of things like payments, meetings, classes and other important matters.

Keep your promises. If you tell a person you will do something for them, keep up to that promise. Integrity goes a long way.

Be a friend to every person in your downline and upline. Offer to help people when you can, and don't be afraid to ask for help when it's needed.

Dream. Your dreams will help drive you toward achieving your goals. Don't give up and don't listen to people who tell you it will not work.

Have fun and enjoy what you do

GOAL SETTING

Every successful person in history would have had some kind of goal to reach for. When you attempting to build something, you always have a finished product in mind. A painter can sit in front of a blank canvas and see his/her final product before he/she even takes the first stroke of the brush.

The same philosophy applies to your business. Each member has his or her own reason for being involved. The question to ask yourself is what is yours. The point of setting goals is to create for you something to work towards. There are 3 types of goals that you will see here.

Short term goals. These range between 0 and 6 months from when you set them. These are goals that you want to achieve in the near future. It is often best that short terms goals be focused on your business.

Medium term goals. These range between 6 and 18 months from when you set them.

Long term goals. The are things that you want in the long term. A dream house. Travel the world.

NOTE: The following guidelines are designed to help you in setting your goals.

The goal must be something you really want, and that you can see yourself doing.

The goal must be something you truly believe you will get.

The goal must be specific. A good way to test if your goal is specific is to see is other people can see you achieving it.

The goal must be something that does not hurt anyone else or you.

The goal must be something that you are willing to pay the price for, in time and effort.

Make your goals for things that you want not things you feel you "should do".

The goals must be possible. Do not confuse goals with dreams. Our dreams help us to decide on our goals, but they are not themselves goals.

You need to make sure that you are able to see yourself making progress towards the goal.

The goal must always be positive.

You must make sure you can commit to each goal you set. Sometimes, sacrifices are necessary for you to achieve your goals. Be sure that you are willing to make those sacrifices before committing to the goal.

All your goals should be S.M.A.R.T.

S = Specific

M = Measurable

A = Achievable

R = Realistic

T = Time Frame

Before you go any further, take some time to set yourself goals for yourself and your home based internet marketing business. Try to set 1 short, medium and long term goal. Remember that all goals need to include a time frame.

Example:

Short term goal - Have 10 people in your downline within 21 days.

Medium term goal - Have a residual income of at least $1000 per month within 12 month.

Long term goal - Be able to purchase a brand new car in 2 years.

What you must realize when you set goals, is that you also must recognize things that limit you. A limitation is something that can stop you, or slow down your progress in achieving your goals.

Example:

Setting a goal that you will spend 3 hours on the PC everyday building your business when you come from a family of 9 people who share the PC.

As you can imagine, this goal would be hard to stick to. Having all those people wanting to use the PC would make it hard to keep to the goal of spending 3 hours online each day.

What you need to do now, is look at the goals you wrote for yourself, and write down a list of anything that you feel can/will limit you in achieving those goals. Do not feel bad if you find the goal is not possible. If this happens, go back and create another goal.

Once you set 3 goals that you are happy with, and willing to stick to, write them in large letters on white unlined paper or card and stick it somewhere you will see it everyday. This motivates you, and keeps your mind focused on the goals.
