The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) in Boston is a contemporary art museum located in the Seaport District neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 1936, the ICA is dedicated to presenting contemporary art and culture through exhibitions, performances, and educational programs. The museum's collection includes works by artists such as Mona Hatoum, Cindy Sherman, and Nan Goldin, among others. The ICA is also known for its architecture, with a distinctive stainless steel and glass building designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in 2006. The museum hosts a variety of events and programs, including lectures, film screenings, and workshops, as well as a cafe and a store. The ICA is a non-profit organization that is funded through the support of its members, donors, and sponsors.

THE INSTITUTE OF CONTEMPORARY ART

 

Admission is FREE for all every Thursday from 5 to 9 PM during ICA Free Thursday Nights. Timed tickets are required for free days and nights. Youth 18 and under always receive FREE museum admission.
The ICA is open on the following national holidays when admission is FREE for all: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Indigenous Peoples' Day.
When accompanied by kids 12 and under, up to 2 adults per family admitted free the last Saturday of every month except December.
